What you see here is a collaboration between the legible and the pictorial. This form was inspired by the letters within the acronym for the Center for Intelligence and Crime Analysis. The form can be read as the C I C and A of CICA. When we first look, the C and I are visible within the outer ring. The longer we are looking, we return to the front of the form to view a second C and finally, the outer form in its entirety creates a lowercase A.

 

One could view the paths made by the letters as a network of connections made around one central hub space. Each coming from a different direction, the paths can be representative of a network connecting together to create a pipeline of information, the roads and backways of a close-knit neighborhood, or even the circuitry of a motherboard in a computer.

 

Using both the outlines and the square in the middle, we have created a hidden magnifying glass within the design. A magnifying glass was developed to represent a journey away from traditional security. Because the Center for Intelligence and Crime Analysis is focused on education, research, and technical assistance, the symbolism of the magnifying glass reinforces the idea of intellect with grand comprehension.
