Hansel and Gretel is a classic fairy tale of wit and survival. Both Hansel and Gretel show their strengths in wit to ensure their escape from the witch that has captured them.

I wanted to take a modern approach to the book cover as the story of Hansel and Gretel is old and has been changed through the renditions of its many publications. I thought it would be interesting to make the subject of the cover a classic and easily recognizable as a nod to the status of the story.
